The ACSMM™ Library Purpose
The ACSMM™ Library (“Benny Suggs” Program) exists to share innovative ideas, successful practices, and creative solutions that strengthen lifesaving capacity across the animal care sheltering field. These submissions help shelters learn from one another, adapt proven concepts, and accelerate progress toward sustainable No-Kill outcomes.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome short, practical ideas that demonstrate measurable value, efficiency, or compassion in action. Examples include:
New approaches to intake, adoptions, or foster programs
Behavioral or medical care innovations
Volunteer or community engagement strategies
Data or process improvements
Policy, partnership, or training initiatives
Review & Publication Process
Submissions are reviewed quarterly by the ACSMM team.
Accepted entries are categorized under their relevant domain (e.g., Medical & Behavioral Care, Staffing & Culture).
The PDF is posted publicly in the ACSMM Library section of the website.
Contributors receive a short confirmation email with the posting link.

Short Description (2–3 sentences) of your idea or innovation
You’ll receive an acknowledgment email confirming receipt.
Format Requirements
Submit a PDF file (one to three pages) summarizing the idea or practice
Include optional graphics or photos (embed within PDF if possible)
File naming format: DomainName_Title_Organization.pdf (e.g., MBC_StressReduction_ShelterHope.pdf)
The ACSMM™ Library is a knowledge-sharing resource. Suggestions represent the views of contributors and are published to encourage sector-wide learning. The No Kill ACSMM™ Institute does not guarantee outcomes from implementing any individual suggestion.
